Fee Methods

Percentage: is calculated as a percentage of the total cost of construction including General Contractor's fee (which is typically 15%)

Time-Plus: is calculated as an hourly rate plus all reimbursable expenses. (they vary per media and are established and estimated before a project begins) A guaranteed upset value is generally calculated for each phase of the work or the whole work.

Fixed Fee: is calculated by an agreed upon total number in advance of the work or phase of the work. An hourly breakdown can be provided as well.

Generally, some combination of these fee structures work best for all parties involved for large design projects, providing rigor and discipline to time frames and budgets. Billings are once a month until ledge is zero. Special arrangements can be worked in advance. For specifics refer to your project's Proposal Document or Contract.

Other Design Information

If you are looking for services in design that don't fit neatly into the categories above BritasMedia may still be of help! Training in architecture broadly prepares one for designing in many other media, in addition to the building related professions. At the heart of an architect's training is conceptual thinking and ideation. Architects visualize!

If you have a idea that needs visualization, conceptual mockup or development then consider this. Many of the worlds most talented architects have designed furniture, fabrics, cars, televisions and electronic devices, bridges, toys, models, installations of all kinds, and even tea pots! Architects are especially adept at managing large amounts of information and bring to the table a wide array of tools for analysis and synthesis of design data.
